Exabytes eCommerce Conference day 2 began with full anticipation. After a long night rest, participants and Exabees were ready for another full day of learning and sharing. Registration and networking started between 8.30am – 9.15am before Felix Lee, the head of Easy.my took the stage to begin the first talk of the day on Easy.my features. Easy.my, a brainchild of Exabytes is a hosted eCommerce solution which allows users to create their online stores and sell on Facebook instantly. In the presentation which was accompanied by a demo aimed to give the audience a hands-on experience in building their own web stores, many were impressed by the easiness and the special features of Easy.my which included the integration of Facebook account into online store, 2-click easy installation, integrated shopping carts and payment gateways, auto-generated letterheads, professional invoice and receipt design, drag and drop feature, self-insert logos / images and many more.
Subsequently, Desmond from City-Link Express stepped forward to talk about “Courier Service for Your Online Business.” Courier service is undeniable a part of a successful online business as online purchases are usually followed by product delivery for most tangible products. Desmond gave the audience a picture on how City-Link Express could greatly help in enhancing customer service of an online business.
After that, we took a break for refreshment to better prepare ourselves for the next sharing of our esteemed speakers. Some delicious local cuisine and assorted French pastries were served and this was also the time many grabbed the chance to have a closer interaction with our speakers. The conference resumed at around 11.15am and soon we found ourselves in the next open forum discussion – “How to Shoot Photos That Sell”. While Siew Kay, an experienced photographer who is based in Penang and KL shared with us her thoughts on the photos that best describe products or services on a web store, Yu Liang, an enthusiastic photographer revealed to us the golden rules of shooting good photos. Finally, Vickson Tan, the product photographer and web designer of Exabytes, aka an expert in Photoshop told us his secret in producing the winning product photos for Exabytes.
Soon lunch was served. Since ‘variety is the spice of life’, this time savory dishes such as Oven Baked Tandoori Chicken Boxing and Wok Fried Char Koay Teow, etc were prepared to pamper our taste buds. As usual, participants, Exabees and the speakers were seen mingling around while tucking in the mouth-watering food.
The first talk right after the delicious lunch was “Income Tax and You” focused on eBusiness. Ms Aishah binti Aman, the Director of e-Commerce Division of Malaysia’s Tax Compliance Department was there to share with us on this topic, based on her 30 years of experience in the department.
Coming up next was the last open forum discussion of eCommerce conference which led us to contemplate the importance of branding for an online business entitled “Your Powerful Publicity Channel – Social Media and Group Buying”.
