Looking back at the Amazing WordCamp Johor Bahru 2025

What an incredible weekend we had as one of the sponsors at WordCamp Johor Bahru 2025 (#WCJB25)! The event brought together a vibrant community of WordPress enthusiasts — from developers and designers to content creators and business owners — all united by their shared passion for the world’s most powerful website platform.

 

What is WordCamp?

WordCamps are community-driven conferences dedicated to WordPress, the open-source platform that powers over 43% of the web. These volunteer-organised events, sanctioned by the WordPress Foundation, bring together enthusiasts to share knowledge, explore new technologies, and build valuable connections. Since 2006, a total of 1,145 WordCamps have been held in 65 countries across 6 continents.

 

Highlights from the Weekend

The two-day event was packed with insightful sessions covering everything from the latest WordPress developments to SEO strategies, design principles, and business growth tactics. Some of my personal highlights included:

  • The opening keynote that focuses on WordPress’s evolving role in the modern web ecosystem.
  • Where beginners and experts alike could improve their skills.
  • Networking opportunities that led to meaningful connections with fellow WordPress enthusiasts.
  • The legendary after-party where conversations continued in a more relaxed setting.

But beyond the technical knowledge shared, what truly made #WCJB25 special was the sense of community. It reminded us why we fell in love with WordPress in the first place – it’s not just about a content management system; it’s about the people who use it and contribute to its growth.
