It’s another Cloud Software & System Architecture Workshop organized by Exabytes. This time, we have the pleasure to invite Dr. Ooi Boon Yaik, a PhD in Computer Science as our guest speaker.
ABOUT DR OOI
- Completed MSc in Computer Sciences in 2007
- Obtained PhD from the School of Computer Sciences, USM in 2012
- Now a Lecturer at UTAR
CPU usage patterns discovery for resource availability prediction in distributed environment such as cluster, grid and cloud computing. For his PhD, he studied on autonomous resource management solution for distributed environment. He devised a framework that allows administrators to give high-level resource management instructions and low-level configurations are done autonomously.
Autonomous and context-aware resource management on distributed environment using resource utilization information to achieve effective and efficient resource manage.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
In the first half of the event, Dr Ooi will start with
-an introduction on cloud computing and its architecture.
-the principles of software architecture and design, as well as JMeter and Monitorix will be discussed.
-limitation of replication (an introduction to Load Balancer) will also be shared.
During the second half of the event, DR Ooi will be talking about cloud software patterns
