The AWS × Exabytes Business Connect Series 2026 has officially wrapped up, and we’re incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support and participation across two vibrant locations—Selangor and Penang.
From insightful keynote sessions to engaging panel discussions and meaningful networking opportunities, this year’s series brought together business leaders, IT professionals, and decision-makers who are ready to embrace the next phase of digital transformation. The enthusiasm and conversations throughout both events reflected one clear message: Malaysian enterprises are looking beyond the AI buzz and focusing on practical ways to scale with cloud and AI.

Selangor: A Full House to Kick Things Off

We kicked off the series on 23 July at M World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, where a full house of attendees gathered for a day of learning, collaboration, and innovation.
Throughout the day, participants explored practical strategies for modernising infrastructure, adopting AI securely, and driving business growth through cloud technologies. The event also provided valuable opportunities to network with industry peers, technology experts, and business leaders who share a common goal of accelerating digital transformation.
A heartfelt thank you to our speakers for sharing their expertise and real-world insights:

  • Wong Mei Yin (AWS) demonstrated how SMEs can modernise their infrastructure on AWS to build scalable, secure, and future-ready businesses.
  • Thomas Tan (Exabytes Group) shared practical strategies for securing AI workloads and enabling organisations to innovate with confidence.
  • Simon Hsieh (Lark Technologies) explored how businesses can bridge the AI value gap by turning AI investments into measurable business outcomes.
  • Steven Yap (AWS) showcased how Amazon QuickSuite can improve enterprise productivity through smarter collaboration and AI-powered workflows.
  • A special thank you to our panel moderator Ryan Lim (Exabytes Group), together with panellists Eric Foo (Exabytes Group), Lee Daqing (AWS Malaysia), and Simon Hsieh (Lark Technologies), for an engaging discussion on how AI-driven solutions are reshaping today’s enterprise landscape.
The conversations didn’t end when the sessions concluded—attendees continued exchanging ideas during networking sessions, connecting with experts, and exploring how these technologies can be applied within their own organisations.

Penang: A Remarkable Turnout in the North

On 29 July, the Business Connect Series continued at Marriott Hotel, Gurney Penang, where we were delighted to welcome another strong turnout from businesses across the northern region.
The Penang event focused on helping organisations understand how cloud and AI can create tangible business value—from strengthening infrastructure and AI security to improving productivity and preparing the workforce for the future.
A sincere thank you to our speakers for making the event an enriching learning experience:

  • Wong Mei Yin (AWS) shared practical insights into modernising SMB infrastructure on AWS to support long-term scalability and resilience.
  • Kenneth Ng (Exabytes Group) explained how organisations can strengthen AI security while building trusted cloud environments.
  • Simon Hsieh (Lark Technologies) discussed strategies for closing the AI value gap and transforming AI initiatives into meaningful business outcomes.
  • Tan Lee Hsiang (AWS Malaysia) demonstrated how Amazon QuickSuite can enhance collaboration and workplace productivity with AI-powered capabilities.
  • Ashley Karnen (Pulsifi) delivered valuable insights on preparing organisations for AI by developing a workforce that is ready to adapt alongside technology.
  • Thank you as well to our panel moderator Ryan Lim (Exabytes Group) and panellists Eric Foo (Exabytes Group), Irwina Ibrahim (AWS Malaysia), and Simon Hsieh (Lark Technologies) for sharing diverse perspectives on how AI is reshaping businesses across industries.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing attendees actively engage with our speakers and partners, asking thoughtful questions and exchanging ideas that extended well beyond the scheduled sessions.

Two States, One Mission

While Selangor and Penang each have their own unique business landscape – one driven by finance and commerce, the other by manufacturing and innovation – the mission remained the same: empowering enterprises to Scale on Cloud, GROW with AI.
Across both events, attendees gained valuable insights into:
  • Practical cloud modernisation strategies
  • Real AI use cases delivering measurable business value
  • Best practices for securing AI and cloud environments
  • AI-powered workplace productivity and collaboration
  • Workforce readiness in the age of AI
  • Meaningful networking with industry peers and technology experts
More importantly, the discussions reinforced a key takeaway: successful AI adoption begins with a strong cloud foundation, robust security, and a clear strategy aligned with business goals.
