On top of that, the representatives of our sponsors – Malaysia Kini, Easy.my, Paypal and Netbuilder were also present to provide additional information to the zealous participants apart from the topics covered by our esteemed speakers.
Exabytes E-Commerce Day KL 2011, which kick-started last Friday in the capital and the biggest city in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur had attracted the attention of many eCommerce entrepreneurs who inspire to be successful in their different areas of business. The gist of the programs included “Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Search Engine Management (SEM) within your finger tips” by Francis Lui from Nexus Mediaworks Sdn Bhd, “Effective Google AdWords Advertising” by YC NG from iBizClicks, “How to Start Your Own Online Store as Easy as Frying An Egg” by Clement Chau from Exabytes Network, success story sharing by Daniel Franklin Gomez from CityGolf, “Expand Your Online Business with Paypal” by Sherlyn Chong from Paypal, “5 Tips To Get Your Facebook Traffic on Steroids” by Chu Tzu Ming from Persuasion Media and “Malaysia E-commerce Outlook And Grow Your e-Business With Online Payment” by Oon Wee Keong from NetBuilder.
Registration started at 8.45am, but our first eager participant arrived at 8 o’clock sharp, the same time when we Exabees arrived to prepare and set up everything on the E-Commerce Day. The crowd began to size up from 9.00am, with majority of participants started to network and make friends with each other, chit chat and exchange their views on the online businesses they were working on.
As what Exabytes Network, the event organizer planned, the first seminar began at 9.25am with Mr. YC Ng sharing with all participants his great know how on “Effective Google AdWords Advertising”. Ng over the years had built many successful Internet ventures and implemented several successful search marketing campaigns. In 2009, he was awarded the Clickbank Top Affiliate, besides being the top affiliates for many investment courses and software.
With Ng’s extensive experience in Internet marketing, he surprised many of us with his sharing on how he had generated business leads and sales by leveraging search engines.
Next was the turn of Mr. Clement Chau, a technical wizard from Exabytes Network to share with us on “how exactly can clients start their own online stores as EASY as frying an egg with EASY .MY!” Not only was Clement an amateur entrepreneur who manages more than 15 websites apart from working with Exabytes, he had worked closely with Easy.my development team to develop Easy.my online shopping cart and other important features since he was on board with Exabytes.
Coming up next, was also one of the most awaited talks on “Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Search Engine Management (SEM)” by Francis Lui. Throughout the entire seminar many participants were seen taking down the important points on their PDAs, laptops, notebooks, etc. The seminar ended with a big round of applause, with many gaining a deeper insight into the effective use of SEO and SEM.
Next the audience was on to listen to the success story by Mr. Daniel Franklin Gomez. Some of our audience might not play golf and had yet to come across him as a famous name in the golf business, but Mr. Gomez had in the past 10 years lead City Golf to establish many successful strategic partnerships with countless huge and reputable local and international companies such as iPropery, Sime Darby, BMW, Real Madrid and Stanley Ho Macau Casino for both traditional and new media. As the mastermind of City Golf, Mr. Gomez also today manages mobile golf businesses, marketing activities, City Golf’s events as well as online branding through social platforms, websites, web advertising and digital partnerships.
After the invaluable sharing by Mr. Gomez from City Golf, buffet lunch was ready to be served. Our participants and speakers headed on to the Fuzion room on ground floor where international food such as Japanese, Western and Chinese were served. Enjoying a great variety of mouth watering cuisine, our participants and speakers mingled freely while many took the opportunity to have an ‘informal Q&A session’ with our speakers after listening to their inspiring speeches.
Soon after the sumptuous lunch, Ms. Sherlyn Chong who currently manages Southeast Asia and India Channel Partners Development at PayPal started her seminar on “Expand Your Online Business with Paypal”. Chong stressed on the critical role played by Paypal in helping their valued partners succeed in an increasingly competitive business environment.
Next we were on to the next seminar, also one of the most interesting and intriguing ones – Facebook Marketing. It’s undeniably true that nowadays, many use Facebook to connect with their friends and loved ones, playing games, etc but using Facebook to effectively sell our own products and connect it to our website has been the knowledge which majority of us is yet to master. This in fact, is in line with one of Easy.my’s functionality which allows eCommerce businessmen to sell both on their websites and on Facebook.
This awaited seminar was conducted by Mr. Chu Tzu Ming, the Managing Director of Persuasion Media, a company focuses on building Internet based businesses in South East Asia. Managing director aside, Mr. Chu had been building businesses for the past 10 years on the Internet, mobile and technology sectors. Graduated with a degree in Law from Exeter University, United Kingdom and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), he is also a Google Certified Analytics Individual and certified in Advanced Search Engine Marketing and sits on the board of a few web startups companies in Asia. On a side note, Mr. Chu is also a contributor on New Media at Marketing Magazine Malaysia.
While our keen participants were busy jotting down the important points presented by Chu, a 15-minute tea was ready to be served.
Having refreshed ourselves with some sweet treat and natural energy boosters such as coffee and tea, our next speaker, Mr. Oon Wee Keong was ready to speak on “The E-Commerce outlook of Malaysia” as well as on “how to grow E-Business with online payment”. Being the directors of 3 online companies, Netbuilder (M) Sdn bhd, cuti.com.my and MOLPay Sdn Bhd, Mr. Oon’s insights into the E-Commerce outlook of Malaysia had equipped us with the necessary knowledge and better judgment in making critical decisions regarding our online businesses in the future.
Next, to provide our participants with a hands-on experience in setting up their own online stores easily, Mr. Clement Chau from Exabytes Network again went on stage to demonstrate the way to use Easy.my in registering a free account, designing and decorating online stores with different templates, updating product information, uploading products for online promotion purposes, installing Facebook application onto one’s Easy.my online store and connecting Facebook account with it and start selling online effectively.
Finally, before Exabytes E-Commerce Day KL 2011 came to an end, Business Development Manager of Exabytes Ms. Ooi Poh Yan and all our esteemed speakers were invited to the stage for the final Q&A session. Questions were raised and answered by respective speakers to the satisfaction of our participants.
Exabytes here congratulates all our participants for their active participations in Exabytes E-Commerce Day which equipped them with all the necessary knowledge in making a difference in the world of E-Commerce! Last but not least, we would like to extend a million thanks to event sponsors Paypal, NBePay and Malaysia Kini for their kind sponsorship and various speakers for their precious time and invaluable knowledge sharing and support.
