Hari Raya Haji, the “Festival of Sacrifice” is an important and auspicious day to mark the end of Hajj, the annual Muslim pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca. The “Festival of Sacrifice” is a public holiday in Malaysia which falls on November 6 this year, 70 days after the end of holy month of Ramadan.

While animals such as sheep, goats and cows are sacrificed before being distributed among the Muslim community on this special day, the celebration of Hari Raya Haji is also a reminder to share one’s wealth with the less fortunate.
