What if repetitive tasks taking up your time every day could simply happen automatically?
That was the question at the heart of Exabytes Digital Day: Unlock the Power of Automation, held on 25 September 2026 at the Exabytes Event Space in SetiaWalk Puchong.
Bringing together a community of curious minds and forward-thinking professionals, the event offered a practical introduction to workflow automation with n8n — moving beyond the concept of automation and giving participants the opportunity to see, build, and experience it for themselves.
Beyond the Buzz: Making Automation Practical
Automation has become an increasingly important part of how businesses approach productivity and digital transformation. Yet, for many people, the idea of automation can still feel complex or difficult to translate into everyday work.
That’s where the session focused its attention: making automation practical.
Rather than simply discussing what automation could potentially do, participants explored how workflows can be designed to connect different tools, reduce repetitive processes, and create more efficient ways of working.
With n8n as the platform of focus, the session provided a hands-on look at how different applications and processes can be brought together within an automated workflow.
Getting Hands-On with n8n
The highlight of the event was the hands-on n8n workshop, led by Warren Leow, CEO of AITraining2U.
Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of n8n before diving into practical workflow automation. The workshop provided an opportunity to experiment with different possibilities and understand how individual tasks can be connected to create a larger, automated process.
Instead of simply watching a demonstration, participants could get involved in the process of building workflows themselves.
That hands-on experience helped turn an abstract idea — “Can this task be automated?” — into a more practical question:
“How can I build a workflow to automate it?”
Connecting the Tools We Already Use
One of the key areas explored during the workshop was the ability to connect different tools and applications.
In everyday work, information often moves between multiple platforms. A task might begin in one application, require information from another, and eventually lead to an action somewhere else.
Workflow automation creates an opportunity to connect these steps.
With n8n, participants explored how workflows can bring different tools together, allowing information and actions to move between connected systems according to defined processes.
This can open up possibilities for reducing manual work and creating more consistent workflows.
From Repetitive Tasks to Smarter Workflows
A major takeaway from the session was that automation doesn’t necessarily have to start with a complicated business process.
Sometimes, the best place to start is with the small, repetitive tasks that happen every day.
Think about the processes that involve doing the following repeatedly:
-
Moving information between applications
-
Copying and organising data
-
Sending routine notifications
-
Updating different platforms
-
Triggering follow-up actions
-
Performing the same sequence of steps over and over again
Individually, these tasks may not seem significant. But over time, they can add up.
By identifying these repetitive processes and considering where automation can be introduced, teams can begin to create workflows that make everyday work more streamlined.
Learning by Building
There was something particularly valuable about making the workshop hands-on.
Automation becomes much easier to understand when you can see a workflow take shape in front of you — from the initial trigger, through each connected step, to the final action.
Participants had the opportunity to experiment, ask questions, and explore different ways of approaching workflow automation.
The experience demonstrated that automation isn’t simply about replacing a manual task with a digital one.
It’s about thinking differently about how work gets done.
A Day of Learning, Experimenting and Sharing Ideas
Beyond the workflows and tools, Exabytes Digital Day was also about creating a space for people to explore new ideas.
Technology continues to evolve rapidly, and understanding how emerging tools can be applied in practical ways is becoming increasingly important.
Events like these provide an opportunity to step away from the usual day-to-day routine, learn something new, and consider how technology could be applied to challenges within our own work.
From first-time automation explorers to those already familiar with digital workflows, everyone brought different perspectives and questions to the session.
And that’s what made the experience meaningful.
Together, We Made Automation Happen
A big thank you to Warren Leow, CEO of AITraining2U, for guiding participants through the hands-on n8n workshop and sharing his practical knowledge and experience with our participants.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who joined us for Exabytes Digital Day: Unlock the Power of Automation.
Your questions, curiosity, ideas, and willingness to get hands-on helped make the event more than just a workshop. It became an opportunity to explore what is possible when we start looking at everyday work through the lens of automation.
The Possibilities Are Just Beginning
One workshop can introduce the tools.
One workflow can solve a repetitive task.
But once you start looking at your everyday processes differently, the possibilities can multiply. Automation isn’t just about doing more with technology. It’s about finding smarter ways to work.
At Exabytes, we look forward to creating more opportunities for our community to learn, experiment, and discover practical ways technology can support the way we work.
Until the next Exabytes Digital Day — keep exploring, keep building, and keep finding ways to make work smarter.
