Exabytes Celebrates a Silver Milestone
Exabytes Group celebrated a major milestone on 17 January 2026 with its Annual Dinner and 25th Anniversary celebration, held at the Fifth Avenue Hotel, George Town, Penang. The evening brought together 385 participants, including employees, spouses, and family members, for a night of reflection, recognition, and celebration—honouring both the company’s journey and the people who made it possible.
The choice of venue carried deep personal and symbolic meaning. In his welcoming speech, Exabytes Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Chan Kee Siak, shared that Fifth Avenue—affectionately known by locals as Lebuh Macallum—holds a special place in his heart. It was here, 25 years ago, that Exabytes began. At just 18 years old, Mr Chan started the company from his bedroom in his parents’ home along this very street. Returning to this location a quarter-century later was a powerful reminder of humble beginnings, perseverance, and the possibilities that come from bold ambition.
Before the formal programme commenced, attendees enjoyed a variety of interactive experiences, including a selfie mirror photo spot and a photo booth that remained open throughout the night. These moments set a relaxed and celebratory tone, allowing colleagues and families to reconnect, capture memories, and mark the significance of the occasion.
From Day One to Year 25: The Exabytes Story Comes Home
The programme officially opened with the emcee welcoming guests, followed by opening speeches from Mr Chan Kee Siak and Dato’ Tan, a key figure whom Mr Chan fondly regards as his mentor. A special video titled “A Journey of Exabytes: 25 Years” then took the audience through the company’s evolution—from its earliest days to its growth into a trusted digital solutions provider serving businesses across the region. The video served as both a tribute to the past and a reaffirmation of Exabytes’ vision for the future.
Energy in the ballroom lifted during the ice-breaking session and the much-anticipated Exabytes Got Talent segment. One of the evening’s standout moments was the debut performance of the Exabytes Chinese New Year 2026 song, written and performed by a group of Exabees. Another crowd favourite saw two employees creatively reenact the story of Mr Chan’s journey—from Day 1 as a young founder to leading Exabytes 25 years later—bringing humour, nostalgia, and heartfelt appreciation to the stage.

The celebration continued with multiple lucky draw sessions spread throughout the evening. With a total of 88 prizes, the lucky draw was one of the night’s biggest highlights. The grand prize—an iPhone 17 Pro—sparked excitement, alongside two Apple Watch Ultra 3 units and many other attractive rewards. In addition, cash prizes were awarded to game challenge winners, award recipients, and service awardees, adding to the festive atmosphere and sense of appreciation.
Recognition took centre stage during the awards-giving sessions. Across three segments, employees were honoured for their outstanding contributions and long-standing dedication. A total of 25 employees received service awards, recognising milestones ranging from 5 years to an impressive 25 years of service. In addition, 7 employees were presented with the Exabytes EV Car Achievement Award 2025, while 16 employees received the Exabytes Overseas Business Trip Award 2025. These moments underscored Exabytes’ people-first culture and the importance of loyalty, teamwork, and shared growth.
The evening was complemented by a sumptuous banquet dinner, providing guests with an opportunity to enjoy good food, great company, and lively conversations. Throughout the night, multiple photo opportunities ensured that memories of this landmark celebration were captured and shared.
