Exabytes Launched The Very First Full Fledged Cloud Hosting Service In Malaysia
Exabytes on December 13 launched the very first comprehensive cloud hosting service in Malaysia named “Hitting The Cloud” at Bangsar City Golf, Malaysia’s premier indoor golf entertainment venue.
12 Exabees together with 82 specially invited customers played the state-of-the-art golf simulator with the common aim of hitting their cloud targets which signified the readiness of customers to adopt cloud technology which was unarguably the future of websites, e-commerce and web hosting.
The “Hitting the Cloud” Launch started at 10.30am for guest registrations.
However, some of our VIP guests had arrived at City Golf at 10am.
At 11am sharp, CEO Chan Kee Siak officially kick-started the launch giving his keynote speech“What Is a True Public Cloud?”
In fact, cloud hosting also known as hosting in the cloud is the web hosting services delivered as a service rather than a product over the Internet which allows users to fully focus on their websites, eCommerce, products, profits, etc instead of hardware and its huge cost in upgrading.
It is also a technology that will soon replace the old idea of renting a server or shared hosting and is often described as “unlimited computing power – bandwidth, RAM, CPU power, storage, etc on demand” whenever needed by users.
Furthermore, Exabytes was delighted and proud to have Mr. Rafe Asznal, the representative from MDEC to make the second keynote address on MSC Cloud Initiatives.
MDEC is a corporation which leads and provides leadership for the development and implementation of key industry initiatives and programs in support of MSC Malaysia’s corporate goals.
Upon completion of Mr. Rafe’s keynote address, CEO Chan came to stage to present a souvenir in appreciation of his valuable support.
There, the event took a 30-minute break; many participants were seen networking and mingling freely among themselves and Exabees.
Some took the chance to visit the Cloud Demo counters set up by Exabees to know more about Exabytes Cloud Hosting.
Besides, the 30-minute break was also the time for “Hitting The Cloud Contest” in which participants were required to hit the golf ball to the longest range using the state-of-the-art golf simulator to become the winners.
Top 3 participants who managed to do so would receive vouchers sponsored by City Golf and Logitech Wireless mouse sponsored by Exabytes.
Before our participants got to experience the golf simulator, we were all delighted to have the host of the venue cum General Manager of City Golf, Mr. Daniel Franklin Gomez to demonstrate his exceptional golfing skills.
Subsequently, the audience shifted their attention to “Exabytes Cloud in Action”.
A Live Demo which was specially designed to give our users a picture on how Exabytes Cloud Hosting works, its flexibility and how can users scale their resource limit or computing power using Exabytes Cloud Control Panel.
Many participants were left impressed on how easy it was to manage their own cloud hosting accounts through Exabytes control panel.
The Live Demo was followed by Q&A session for participants to clear any lingering doubts they had on their mind. When the clock struck 1.15pm, the much anticipated Hitting The Cloud Contest Prizes Giveaway and Lucky Draw were underway.
A total of 20 gifts were given away, among them the grand prize of lucky draw Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus sponsored by Exabytes, limited edition gifts from OpenSRS which were couriered all the way from the US, limited edition gifts from Kaspersky and Google, limited edition keychains and pen drives from Exabytes, CityGolf vouchers sponsored by CityGolf Bangsar, 5 Starbucks Coffee vouchers and 5 Logitech Wireless Computer Mice sponsored by Exabytes.
Next, it was time to fill up our empty stomach. Lunch was served in buffet style and drinks such as soft drink and fruit juice were served bottomless.
Our participants started to roam around to make friends or improve their golfing skills at the golf simulator.
Event evaluation forms were also given to our participants for their valuable feedback.
And Limited Edition Exabytes Cloud T-Shirts were given away for free to further appreciate their comments and suggestions.
Finally, Exabytes Cloud Hosting Launch “Hitting The Cloud” concluded at around 3pm.
We at Exabytes wish to thank all committee members for their hard work, Mr. Rafe Asznal for his sharing and our beloved guest customers for their precious time and active participation.
We are happy that the event has served its purpose and given our participants a wonderful time and a better idea on cloud technology or cloud hosting.
