Ever opened an important document or chat in Lark, only to lose track of it minutes later?
The History function solves that.
With it, you can quickly find the chats, documents, emails, and apps you have recently opened in the Lark desktop app — so you can pick up right where you left off.
This guide shows you how to view your history, jump to your full history page, and delete records when you want a clean slate.
What Is the History Function in Lark?
The History function keeps a running list of the pages you have recently opened on the Lark desktop app — including chats, Docs, Base, emails, and apps.
Instead of searching from scratch, you can reopen recent items in a couple of clicks, making it a quiet but powerful productivity helper.
How to View Your History
The way you open your history depends on your operating system.
- macOS: In the Lark desktop app, click History on the menu bar. Up to 20 recently opened pages will be displayed.
- Windows: In the Lark desktop app, click the History icon in the upper-right corner. Up to 20 recently opened pages will be displayed.
How to View All History
To see every page you have previously opened, click View All History at the bottom of the dropdown to go to the History page.
You can also use a keyboard shortcut to open the full History page:
- macOS: Cmd + Y
- Windows: Ctrl + H
Tip: Memorising this shortcut is one of the quickest ways to jump back to something you were working on earlier — far faster than retracing your steps through menus.
How to Delete History Records
From the History page, you can either delete single records or clear your whole history.
Delete a Single Record
Hover over the record you want to delete, then click the Delete Record icon on the right of the page.
Alternatively, right-click on a record and then click Delete Record.
Clear All History
To wipe your entire history, click Clear History, then click Clear to confirm.
Note: Clearing all records cannot be undone, so make sure you no longer need the history before confirming.
Practical Ways to Use History
- Resume your work: Quickly reopen the document or Base you were editing before a meeting interrupted you.
- Find that chat again: Jump back to a conversation you opened earlier without scrolling through your message list.
- Keep things private: Delete individual records (or clear everything) on a shared or public computer for added privacy.
- Stay focused: Use the History page as a quick “recent work” list to pick up unfinished tasks.
