Over three days at AI Build & Interiors Connect, Exabytes took part in conversations with professionals from architecture, construction, and interior design on how digital tools and artificial intelligence are being applied across the built environment industry.
The event focused on real-world use cases, current challenges, and how organisations are gradually integrating new technologies into their workflows.
Key Session: Design Faster. Build Smarter. Grow with AI
A highlight of the event was a session by our CEO, Mr. Chan, titled: “Design Faster. Build Smarter. Grow With AI.” The session introduced AI in a practical way, focusing on how it can support everyday tasks in planning, coordination, and productivity within the industry.
A key takeaway shared was: “AI won’t replace you, but a person using AI will.”
The message emphasised that AI should be seen as a tool to enhance capability, rather than replace human roles.
Improving Collaboration with Digital Tools
The event also discussed how platforms like Lark can help teams work more efficiently by improving communication and coordination.
Key points included:
Centralising communication in one platform
Improving project team alignment
Making updates and file sharing easier
Reducing fragmented workflows
Day 1: Architects in the Age of AI & Industry Adaptation
The first day focused on how the architectural profession is adapting within the Fourth Industrial Revolution, along with early discussions on how AI can support construction SMEs.
A key highlight was the session “Architects in the Age of AI: Relevance in the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” presented by Ar. Sarly Adre Sarkum, Chief Architect & Director of [SA] / Sarly Adre Sarkum Architecture Sdn Bhd, and Chief Executive Officer of Green Building.
The session discussed how architects can remain relevant as digital tools and new technologies continue to influence design approaches and industry workflows.
The day also began with a welcome speech by Dennis Choy, Managing Director of Strata Design Asia, who set the tone for the event and highlighted the importance of collaboration across the industry.
Day 2: Human-Centred Design, Healing Spaces & Future Living
The second day featured a combination of individual talks and panel discussions covering several perspectives on design and the future of the built environment.
Key topics included healing architecture, human-centred design approaches, and ideas surrounding future living environments.
The discussions explored how design can better support wellbeing, while also responding to changing lifestyles and expectations in modern living spaces.
Day 3: Digitalisation & Practical AI Implementation
The final day focused on how digital tools and artificial intelligence are being applied in real-world industry settings.
Discussions covered the practical implementation of AI in construction and project workflows, as well as the challenges organisations face during digital adoption and change management.
The overall focus was on how the built environment industry can move from exploration to practical application of digital technologies in day-to-day operations.
What’s Next After AI Build & Interiors Connect?
Across the three days, the discussions pointed towards a clear direction — the industry is gradually moving from awareness of digital tools to more practical, day-to-day application. The focus is now on how these solutions can better support real workflows, coordination, and project delivery.
As highlighted during the event, tools such as Lark were shared as examples of how teams can improve communication and manage work more efficiently in a connected platform.
