On November 21 2024, INTI International College Penang hosted the thrilling finale of the Tech Ideation Challenge 2024 (TECH-IC 2024). Aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup development among young talents, the event brought together some of the brightest minds in the region.
The day started with the arrival of participants and distinguished guests, setting an enthusiastic tone for the competition. Following a warm welcome by the emcee, Ms. Hemalatha Murugiah, Chief Executive of INTI International College Penang, officially opened the event with her inspiring speech. A compelling Keynote Session by Digital Penang followed, sparking creativity and determination among participants.
The booth exhibition and final pitching took center stage, where the finalist teams showcased their groundbreaking ideas, engaging both judges and attendees with their innovative solutions. The lively atmosphere highlighted the passion and dedication of each participant, and after several groups pitched, it was time for a well-deserved lunch break.
After a delicious lunch in INTI’s Alkira restaurant, with food prepared and served by the college’s talented students, pitching resumed with the remaining groups. Once the pitching ended, the scores were calculated, and everyone gathered for the much-anticipated judging conclusion by Ms. Cefinny Teh from DocKITA. The announcement of winners and prize-giving ceremony crowned the hard work of the teams, celebrating their remarkable achievements.
The event concluded with a heartfelt closing speech by Miss Ooi Poh Yan, the Vice President of Business Development for Exabytes Malaysia, emphasising the importance of platforms like TECH-IC 2024 in nurturing future innovators. As the final group photo was taken, the event wrapped up on a high note, leaving participants inspired to continue their entrepreneurial journeys. Events like these remind us that the future of innovation lies in the hands of today’s youth, and with initiatives like TECH-IC 2024, we are on the right path to empowering them.
