It was an early Wednesday morning as the crowd started to make their way to SetiaWalk Puchong, Exabytes Corporate office and the venue of Exabytes E-Commerce Conference 2014!
At around 7.45am, registration began before our valued participants started to get themselves accommodated with the surroundings. As refreshments were served, we could see that the attendees were getting really excited for the conference experience.
As more and more seats were filled, Exabytes CEO Mr. Chan Kee Siak delivered his opening speech before the conference officially kick-started!
Our first speaker who took over the stage was Ng Wei Kheng of Dashermart.my. Ng presented his talk on Online Business Seller Experience, which left many of us impressed. The talented 19-year-old speaker made it big in eCommerce business when he was very young.
Next, CEO of GHL Systems Berhad, Mr. Raj Lorenz gave us a fantastic introduction to Online Payment for eCommerce Merchants. Mr. Raj went on to tell us the new online payment methods for eCommerce merchants, which are highly convenient for both the merchant and customer.
Soon it’s time for tea break! Delicious refreshments were served and we were extremely delighted that our participants liked them a lot. There many started to network around, exchanging business cards and thoughts before the session ended.
After a satisfying round of food and drinks, the Marketing Director of HeppiFace, Mr. Johanqz Ooi joined us to share his ideas on Facebook Marketing, which really WOW-ed a lot of us!
This is then followed by Ms Michelle Soo, the founder of Kiss and Tell. A young and pretty lady aged only 24, Michelle nailed the speech on E-Business is Business, and impressed us with her lively presentation.
Before lunch break, CEO Chan once again took the stage and shared his own experience on how shopping carts could help to revolutionize traditional business.
Next, the audience and Exabees headed to Padi Café to have a sumptuous lunch. While enjoying the beautiful meal and mingling around, a surprise announcement came – it’s the birthday of our speaker Ng Wei Kheng. Feeling excited, Exabees presented Ng a birthday cake and sang him a birthday song.
As the conference resumed, we were ready for two important sharing on photography.
Ethan Ong, a Groupon Fulltime Photographer, taught us the art of professional photography and the best practices for shooting objects. Next, Mr Nang Chin, the Main Trainer for Double Effect Training House delighted the participants with his humorous insights into photo editing using the Photoshop.
It’s no denying that good photography skills are a must for running a successful online business as attractive photos can assist in boosting sales and giving the potential customer more confidence.
Soon another brief tea break took place before the very talented Country Manager of Aramex Malaysia, Mr. Samer Marei greeted us on the stage. Mr. Samer Marei shared on Supply Chain Solutions besides highlighting the issues and solutions of supply chains in the Malaysian market.
Finally, the last speaker of the day, Mr Larry Lim of Searchguru.com.my wowed us with his 7 Dirty Secrets of E-Commerce Marketing.
As the first day of EEC 2014 came to a close, a closing speech was delivered before the Q&A session which saw many enthusiastic participants grabbing the opportunity to ask a lot of questions. We Exabees were especially thrilled by their active participation!
