Exabytes is organizing Photon CGM Game Jam, a 36-hours game development marathon this coming 14 Dec and 15 Dec. This event is going to take place in Exabytes office in SetiaWalk, Puchong. Talented game designers, game developers and game artists from all over the country will gather as teams to create awesome games and have fun together in this 2-day event.
CGM Game Jam 2013 takes place in 3 countries; Japan, Thailand and also Malaysia. Exabytes is proud to become the organizer of Game Jam Malaysia — the first Exabytes event made especially for game developers community in Malaysia. Courtesy of GMO, the organizer of Game Jam Japan as well as the co-organizer of Game Jam Malaysia, Exabytes Game Jam committee paid a visit to Game Jam Japan which was held in GMO office in Shibuya, Tokyo last 9th and 10th Nov. The trip was truly a real eye-opener for us, as we learnt and witnessed a lot of amazing things while we were there. Let’s find out what went down in Game Jam Japan. Yoshi! Ikuzo!

As the game development process requires participants to highly concentrate, so we left the venue to avoid interruption and returned on the next day before the end of the development period.
When we came back, all the participants rallied for the final sprint.

This Oculus Rift device is a virtual reality head-mounted device, allowing the users to feel and experience like they are in the game. Each team was allocated with a device and they used this device to develop and also integrate into their games.
Some of them even integrated XBOX motion sensor into their game.
The clock is ticking and some of the participants look tired after more than 30 hours working on their games.
Yet they still fight till the end to optimize their works.

Each team start presenting their works which they have put in real hard effort for 2 days.
After the presentation, it’s party time! Everybody celebrate their success with pizzas, drinks, beers and enjoyed the games of the other teams.
