Jobbie Nut Butter: Peanuts can go eCommerce as well

0

Ever imagine the Peanuts Butter can go eCommerce as well? Yes, anything is possible with eCommerce! Let’s have a chat with Joseph, the CEO/Founder of Jobbie Nut Butter.

Jobbie Nut Butter EEC 2018 banner

#Q1 Describe what your eCommerce business is about, and why you chose this as your focus, and who benefits from the service that you provide.

We manufacture premium grade peanut butter and sell it online and ship it nationwide. Mostly people that are really busy with work and are looking something delicious and healthy to eat, would order from us as our product are 100% natural without any artificial additives and best of all it’ll automatically be delivered to your doorstep with a click of a bottle.

#Q2 What are the most important things you have done to grow your business? How do you see these elements evolving in the future?

Break out of our comfort zone and barrier to move to eCommerce!!! Traditionally manufacturers such as us has a common path, goal or strategy which is, increase volume, lower cost and distribute it like crazy. Every mall, chain store, retail must not be left untouched! I once felt very discourage when I started distributing to various retails, sales of some shops weren’t unstable, lack of mobility as stock and cash is in customers hand, wastage is high and the list goes on. With eCommerce I believe we could target not just Malaysia but the whole world without all the “traditional hassle”, though with new challenges and opportunity waiting for us.

Jobbie Nut Butter

#Q3 Tell us is your sales lead mostly from Facebook? And it’s so cute to see all the response from your customers on each of your posting. May I know what are the secrets to encourage your fans/followers/customer to communicate, instead of just sellers or buyers relationship?

Most of leads are from social media (mainly FB and IG). Our customers are all very cute indeed, sometimes we would receive their bakings via courier from using our product, it’s definitely very heart warming. Our secret is very simple, if you want cute response…be cute yourself first (very funny, but very true). It’s really that simple, we always treat everyone not just our customers the way we want to be treated back. That’s why we always treat anyone with kindness, empathy, respect and a touch of humor…and so in return we received all these back.

#Q4 Have you ever received complaints from your clients? If yes, what are the situations and how did you solve it?

We most definitely receive complaints, tons of it actually to be honest and it’s perfectly fine and great! Problems ranging from the quality of our product to our service. For example when we first started, customers would complain our peanut butter is not as nice or is not smooth enough, so we tweak, experiment and change.

Maybe change the timing of the roasting session, or grinder it longer by 20%-30% than we normally would. The way we see it, it’s a trust between we and our customers, if they care enough to tell us and hope we solve it and it’s only right if we reciprocate and work hard to improve from it. Though some problems may not be able to be solve immediately, but it’s definitely our responsible to really listen and put it into our heart and make sure we solve it in the future if it’s a “reasonable complain.

#Q5 Tell us – What do you anticipate most in the upcoming EEC??

Meeting new people, hearing tons of different views and opinion, providing as much values to everyone as much as possible!

Pinkboxcereal: Never Stop Giving Value

0

Pinkboxcereal as EEC 2018 speaker banner

Pinkboxcereal is going to share their eCommerce success story at Exabytes eCommerce Conference which is going to held on 5 July 2018 at MaGIC Cyberjaya.

And here you go, we did a little interview with Iylia, Co-founder and Managing Director of Pinkboxcereal to give you some hits up of EEC 2018.

#1 Describe what your eCommerce business is all about. Why did you choose this as your focus, and who benefits from the services you provide?

Shoppinkboxcereal.com is a beauty platform that supports homegrown beauty brands. We chose this because we found the gap/hardship for local brands to shine & reach end consumers. It is such a shame because a lot of local products are so much better than the mainstream ones (especially when it comes to formulation & ethical manufacturing). Now, our end consumer get to enjoy better products & we get to help local products to compete in the market!

Pinkboxcereal Emergency beauty kit pink box

#2 What are the most important things you have done to grow your business? How do you see these elements evolving in the future?

When people ask me what is the ‘secret sauce’ to Shoppinkboxcereal.com success, it is really a combination of everything. We take great pleasure in giving values, great customer service & most importantly, listening to our customers. It sounds like a novelty, but we believe that’s what brought us here today.

Pinkboxcereal team

#3 Knowing that pinkboxcereal has huge following on social media: around 75,000 Facebook followers, 31,000 Instagram followers, and 21,000 YouTube subscribers. May I know what are your secrets to get such a huge following? What are the important things that you need to do to get people to follow you?

Value, value, value! Pinkboxcereal started with just a YouTube channel a few years ago. With no intention of monetising, Shafiqah Shafie (ambassador & co founder) would not stop giving values to her followers. Even until now, we will try to find more ways to deliver more values to customers & non-customers. Sales is important, but without trust, we will probably be gone by next year. We prefer to ‘nourish’ our followers before turning them into customers. To some, it might seem like a waste of time, but that’s the belief we have held on to until now.

#4 If this is your first time to do sharing in EEC, what do you hope to gain from this experience?

Thank you to Exabytes for inviting Pinkboxcereal to be part of 2018 EEC. I hope to learn a lot from all the great people at the conference & hope that our sharing will benefit at least one person after the event.

#4 Tell us – what do you anticipate most in the upcoming EEC??

Other than my own presentation (*evil laugh 😂), I really can’t wait to hear from all the other speakers. I believe we can learn so much from everyone from different fields who face different challenges. Can’t wait for EEC!

So make sure you get your ticket to #EEC2018 to meet Iylia, Co-founder & Managing Director of Pinkboxcereal and listen to his sharing on how to give values to their followers and turn them into customers slowly.

5 Proven Ways To Improve Website Conversion Rate with SEO

0

An easy-to-navigate, well-constructed website that boasts of rich, relevant content not only helps your SEO efforts but also helps your users find what they want and improves your website’s conversion rate.

Before we get into the details of how to do it, let’s have a quick vocab lesson.

What is SEO, SEM and CRO?

  • Search Engine Optimization or SEO is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results.
  • Search Engine Marketing or SEMis the practice of marketing a business using paid advertisements that appear on search engine results’ pages (or SERPs).

search-engine-marketing

  • Conversion Rate Optimization or CRO is a process that involves understanding how users move through your site, which actions they take, and what’s stopping them from completing a transaction or a goal that you have set. It is the systematic process of increasing the percentage of website visitors who take the desired action — be that filling out a form, buying your product, or otherwise.

Now that we know what these terms mean, let’s understand how they’re related and how they contribute to your business success.

How are SEO and CRO related?

SEO and CRO are like peanut butter and jelly or pancakes and maple syrup; each ingredient brings out the best in the other. SEO and CRO are one such pair: good separate, unbeatable together.

How are SEO and CRO related

Many online businesses believe they have to pick one of the two (SEO and CRO).

You could spend an entire chunk of your budget on SEO and rank at the top, but if your visitors do not convert, that’s a fail on the CRO end.

Similarly, if your site offers wonderful content and products but if it does not rank, that’s a fail on the SEO end.

How can SEO and CRO affect each other positively?

As a rule of thumb, limit one specific topic to one page.

This boosts your search engine rankings by helping the crawlers easily and quickly see what a page is about; at the same time, it makes your site more relevant for your visitors.

One clear message leads to minimum confusion and maximum conversion – a huge win for CRO.

A good online marketing strategy incorporates both SEO and CRO and ensures that they work in harmony to achieve the strategic goals and objectives of the business.

Let’s take a look at how CRO can be improved with SEO:

SEO-analysis-chart

1. Publish fresh, authentic content and aim for ‘on topic’ backlinks

Search engines consider hundreds of ranking factors to place one website over the other in search results.

The number of these ranking factors is only going to increase and their nature is only going to get more complicated with Artificial Intelligence being used in search engine algorithms.

Here are the key factors that impact a website’s search engine rankings:

  • The quality of content on your website makes a big difference in all this. Fresh and original content is always good news for SEO. Back every blogpost on your website with these SEO Good Practices:
    • Create a catchy headline with the focus keyword
    • Provide a meta description with the focus/related keyword
    • Include the focus keyword in the first paragraph
    • Have subtitles that have the focus/related keywords
    • Include naturally placed related keywords in the text
    • Name ALT attribute of the images with focus/related keywords.
    • Include titles and subtitles with H1, H2, H3 meta tags
  • ‘On topic’ backlinks from reputed, credible websites is crucial for SEO. A recent study from Stone Temple indicates that backlinks have a big role to play in improving SEO ranking. Getting backlinks, not just to your website’s home page but also to various inner pages and blog posts, gives a positive signal to search engines about the quality of your website. More relevant the anchor text (the blue, underlined, clickable text in a hyperlink), the better it is for the SEO.

Keyword rich domains on new domain extensions such as .tech, .store can work to your advantage for getting these ‘on topic’ backlinks. For example, if the website www.kindle.store is backlinked to anchor text ‘kindle store’, it is a positive indication to the search engines about the relevance of the website.

2. Use Entry Page ‘Scent’

It is imperative to maintain a strong connection between the search result and the landing page.

When your users click on a link and find themselves somewhere they did not expect, then it’s a problem.

Information scent reassures users that they are at the right place.

It determines whether a user will convert or leave (bounce rate).

Use this basic checklist to optimize your page for scent:

  • Have a clear site structure
  • Match title tag and H1 heading
  • Exclude products that are unavailable
  • Adjust your layout based on the keywords

3. Give Enhanced Product Images

Users will barely ever buy anything without seeing it.

They’ll want to touch it, hold it, maybe take it for a spin. All this is obviously not possible to do online, therefore, it is important to make your products come alive through excellent photography and graphics.

Images let your products shine and encourage conversions. For inspiration, check out Made.com,  an eCommerce website that sells high quality designer furniture.

Here are some tips on how you can use images to optimise SEO and thus improve CRO:

  1. Be descriptive with image names. Google can understand red-and-white-polka-dot-dress.jpg but not DCM2704AA.jpg.
  2. Alt attributes of the image should also have they main keywords, but not too many
  3. Add model number, if any, under alt attributes.
  4. Include multiple shots, each with description that is specific to that shot.
  5. Keep the image size below 70 kb to keep the page light.

4. Outrank Your Competition with Long-Tail Keywords

The entire point of Google’s search business is to present users with the right information based on their searches.

A user will rarely ever just search for ‘SEO’” It’ll either be ‘SEO trends’, or ‘Tips to get good SEO rankings’, etc. These are called long-tail keywords.

It is recommended that you invest time and effort into researching these keywords and optimally using them in your content to improve your website’s conversion rate.

Keyword research is a long and complicated process which requires time and dedication.

There are multiple tools like SEMrush and Google Adwords to your aid. However, here’s a quick hack that you can use to get started or get a direction.

  • Type in the keyword that you want to target for an article or product page in the search bar.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and take a look at the “Searches related to…” for that keyword. Usually you’ll get a mix of close variations of your main keyword.

headphone-google-search

  • These are sometimes great keywords to target because they’re long tail and have less competition than Body or Head Keywords.

(Pro Tip: Take one of the keywords from the “Searches related to…” area, pop that into Google, and check out the “Searches related to…” results for that keyword. Rinse and repeat until you have a laundry list of awesome keywords that you can use.)

5. Use Crawlable URL Structure

Another great way to gain higher ranking is to use crawlable URL address for your website.

A searchable URL structure makes it easy for the search engine to find your website and know what it’s offering to the consumers.

A well-defined URL not only helps the website to rank better but it also makes the user experience pleasant.

With this, there is a high possibility of these users getting converted to customers.

Here are some tips:

  • You’ll want this page to be discovered by the right people (and crawlers). So, the keyword that gets to the nub of what your page is about should be included in the URL.
  • Avoid capital letters as they can confuse search engines and make it more difficult to understand.
  • If you want to optimize your URL then the way you separate words does matter. Google robots are set up to read hyphens and not underscores.
    Example:http://yourdomain.com/url-tips and not http://yourdomain.com/url_tips
  • Prepositions and conjunctions are distractions and can be stripped out of the URL completely. Just as users can understand what a topic is about without these unnecessary words, Google will derive all the meaning it requires too.

6. Make The Most Out of Deep Linking

Today’s consumers want information ‘now’ and they have endless options where they can find it.

Having a website that is well optimized and aligned with your business goals can be both lucrative and essential when you become the go-to site for your customers.

Now, it’s time to put all these into actions!

Whether you have a current website or thinking of creating your next one, be sure to grab your desired domain name before someone else gets it!

For endless possibilities, get an .ONLINE domain here or be creative and keep your store open 24/7 with a .STORE domain here.

Printcious Gift: From startup business and now they are making their ways to expand to Asean

0

Hey guys!

Printcious Gift is one of our invited guest speakers to share their eCommerce journey in Exabytes eCommerce Conference which is going to held on 5 JULY 2018 at MaGIC Cyberjaya.

Vincent from Printcious

I believe everyone of you here would like to know more about guest speaker’s background before attending to our event.

Hence, we did a little interview with Vincent, Co-founder of Printcious Gift. Check it out below:

Q1: Describe what your eCommerce business is about.

Printcious.com is an ecommerce website with easy-to-use online design tools for customers to create memorable photo gifts of their own such as t-shirts, mugs, cushions, puzzles and so on with their own photos, texts or designs.

Why do you chose this as your focus?

The reason we started Printcious.com is because we wanted to help gift seekers solve various problems by:

  • Offering memorable yet affordable gifts in comparison to conventional ones
  • Saving time on gift shopping

We built Printcious to provide them a memorable photo gift from as low as RM10 each, and the best thing is that they can shop with us – anytime, anywhere. All we need is just up to 3 working days to deliver the gifts to their doorsteps.

Who benefits from the services that you provide?

We serve both B2B and B2C customers.

For B2B such as corporates, they are always looking for something customised to impress their customers.

For example, we recently worked together with Samsung during their product launching events nationwide by providing customised badge printing service to their customers on the spot.

For B2C cases, we usually come across individuals looking for special gifts for their special ones during occasions such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, parent’s day, Valentine’s day and etc.

With Printcious, they can create their own designs easily online even without any graphic design skills. Once done, we’ll print it onto their photo gifts.

Q2: What are the most important things you have done to grow your business?

We believe we have been doing very well in reducing our customer acquisition cost via effective online marketing channels like search engine optimization and search engine marketing (Adwords).

Besides that, we’re also continuously improving our website UI/UX by reading data from Hotjar, Google Analytics and so on to ensure better user experience and conversion rate.

How do you see these elements evolve in the future?

Google is always improving their algorithm for better search result relevance & user experience.

As such, we need to always keep ourselves updated to their algorithm changes in order to succeed in SEO & search marketing.

Q3: We know that Printcious did join the accelerator program by MaGIC. So what makes a good pitch? and how do you build a pitch that can wow the audience?

Printcious has joined the MaGIC Accelerator Program cohort 1 in 2015, and we have also been fully sponsored by MaGIC again to attend the e@Stanford programme in Silicon Valley. Other than that, we are also one of the Cradle CIP 500 grant recipients in 2016.

For me, our pitch consists of 3 important parts, mainly :

  • Team: we have the knowledge of web development, internet marketing, domain knowledge about gift printing and we have been around in this industry for years.
  • Traction: since Printcious was established in October 2015, we grew our business with decent revenue and user base. Besides that, we have also launched many gift items on our website.
  • Technology: unlike other readymade ecommerce website, we built our ecommerce website with an online design tool and customising features for better usability. Also, we have mastered advanced printing technology that allows us to print gifts from as low as one piece at an affordable price.

Q4: If this is your first time participating in the EEC session, what do you hope to gain from this experience?

This event is about Ecommerce, so I hoped to share about my ecommerce failures with everyone so that they don’t repeat the mistake that I made before.

Also, I will be sharing some business management tips which will be especially useful for startups.

Q5: Tell us – what do you anticipate most in the upcoming EEC??

Sharing is learning! I really hope that my little sharing will help everyone. At the same time, I hope to learn from others as well.

I’m also looking forward to make more friends in the Malaysia eCommerce industry. Cheers ~~

So make sure you get your ticket to #EEC2018 to meet Vincent and listen to his sharing. I’m sure he will give you some good tips to manage your online business to another level.

Oh ya, remember to copy and paste “EEC20OFF” for your ticket purchases!

EasyWork

This is How EasyWork Revolutionizes the Way You Work

At EasyWork, we understand that most small-medium enterprises (SMEs) have a small budget.

Most also do not depend on any administrative system to boost their business efficiency and productivity.

The scenario is understandable as many administrative Apps available on the market are complicated, and require a monthly fee!

However, the latest EasyWork App is soon gonna change all that perception!

Check it out!

EasyWork

1. EasyWork lets you organise your company

Companies that use EasyWork can create their very own company profile.

They then can add in their employees via an invitation link or QR code that ties them to the company.

You can choose to replicate the departments that you have in your company in EasyWork’s Department feature.

You can also grant user access levels as you might have a Human Resource department and you want them to have more control over the app.

When companies have successfully replicated or created the environment they want in the app, administrative tasks can be done more easily with the filters provided by EasyWork.
EasyWork

2. EasyWork provides a fun and rewarding environment

EasyWork is not only about administrative task purposes. EasyWork allows companies to have some internal fun.
