How to Choose Brandable Domain Name – 6 Tips From Real Examples

0

Domain names are exactly like the name of a brick and mortar shop. It represents your website and gives visitors an immediate idea on what your website is about.

In addition, Domain names also affect your website search ranking in Google (SEO), brand and Internet marketing. Thus it is crucial to choose a domain name that works for your website.

Here, we are glad to have 6 website owners who share their valuable tips on how you can choose and own a powerful and influential domain name.

How to Choose Brandable Domain Name – 6 Tips From Real Examples

Japhanie Chay

1. The Power of Keywords

Japhanie Chay, Blogger
sgmumblogger.com

I’ve been a blogger since 14 years old (from a student to a mum). Based in Singapore, I know one of the most common searches is, “I read a review from an sg mum blog/post”.

In fact, most Singaporean parents do search and read the blog and reviews written by other parents too!

As a co-founder of a creative design agency and a digital mum, I’d like to share that the keywords used in a URL also contribute as a search engine ranking factor.

This can also help to improve your site’s search visibility too! So this is how my domain name came about — something strongly related to the nature of my blog posts and target readers.

2. Avoid Numbers and Hyphens

Lau Wee Kiat, Owner
eFusion Technology

When choosing my domain name, I avoid hyphens, weird spelling, and don’t end with a Z (it is not cool actually). Numbers and hyphens are easily misunderstood.

People who hear your website name does not know whether the number is numeral or have to be spelt out; they can misplace the hyphens or even forget to place it there.

Another suggestion that I would like to share is, do not go for “XXX.sg” only. Most people are still used to typing “XXX.com.sg”.

You can buy both (xxx.sg and xxx.com.sg) and do a URL redirect. Don’t be stingy and buy “XXX.sg” only.

3. Look for Synonyms or Names That With Related Meaning

Jeremy King, Owner

When I signed up for this website, I did not foresee myself featuring what I’m featuring now, which is my portfolio. It could have been a blog or a CV but it ended up like this.

So I would like Generalism inspired me in some sort of ways.

Sometimes the easiest way to decide a domain name is to look at the name on your own identity card. If the desired domain name is taken, be humble enough to jumble the words.

Or you can try looking up for synonyms or related meaning of the original name that you came out with.

4. Your Domain Name Attract Visitors Attentions

Mark Javed, Owner
RED PANDA

Choosing the right domain name can be crucial. A right domain name is when the brand name & brand services are shown in a couple words.

A good tip is to come out with brandable SEO friendly names which are not too long (preferably 1 or 2 words).

Nowadays, it’s difficult to find a great domain name but when brandable meets SEO, yes, it’s easy.

If you ask me about my domain redpanda.com.my. Being brandable yet marketing friendly was my thing, which eventually worked out quite well.

People smile and ask me WHY RED PANDA, that’s exactly what I wanted. “Red” represents my favourite colour, which catches attention and “Panda” represents our team.

It helps a lot in marketing as it gets immediate attention. That’s the inspiration in a nutshell.

5. Keep Your Location In Mind

Lua Cheong Rui, Owner
SGshop

SGshop is an e-commerce business originated from Singapore, started on a mission to help users to ‘Shop Global’, which abbreviated into “SG”, and “shop” is to tell people that they can buy things here, hence the domain name – SGshop.

When we expanded to the Malaysia market, our mission to help users to ‘Shop Global’ did not change. Thus we decided to continue using the domain name, but with .my domain extension.

By using .my country code domain extension, we could improve our website search ranking on Google Malaysia.

6. Creative and Innovative

Exabytes.my

Try to create your own name by combining two words together, or be creative and come out with words that are not in the dictionary (Note: it’s fine even if the words are meaningless).

For Example, Elon Masks purchase X.com for an undisclosed amount, and he also named his company boringcompany.com. Facebook purchased FB.com for 8.5 million dollars.

Using these creative or innovative names for your website can impress the audience and make people remember it easily.

Domain name is the first thing your potential customers or visitors see, and you only have a few seconds to make a great impression.

Also, make sure that you make it easy for your audience as you want them to find it without trouble.

Spend the necessary time and gather as many ideas as possible to create a winning domain name that can build your business in the long term.

Slow Website? Here’s How To Fix It

0

There are many factors that can make or break a website.

Nowadays, website speed is a vital factor, especially if you are running an eCommerce site.

People can choose when and where to obtain the information, and they expect to get it within split seconds.

And if your website dealing with modern consumers, it would cause them pain if it’s slow loading — which eventually affects your cost. Here’s why slow websites can cost damage to you and your customer experience:

The Results of Slow Website and How To Fix It

Poor User Experience

UX is key when it comes to selling your products online.

If customers do not understand how your website work plus it’s taking forever to load, it will definitely frustrate them.

And you can be sure they most likely will not come back again.

frustrated-user

How to fix it

There are simple ways to solve this. But it also requires quite some work before you can get it done.

If you are using WordPress hosting, it can implement browser and server-side caching to store frequently used data (NGINX Caching).

This means data can be retrieved much faster and result in loading speed improvement.

Affects your SEO ranking

SEO means almost everything when you are running a business online. It helps your customers to find you and make a purchase. But did you know that having a slow website can take a hit to your SEO rankings? Over the years, Google has given precedence to faster loading websites compared to others. So, why let such a thing affect your ranking and lose your customers?

How to fix it: An effective way is to optimize all the images you have on your website. You can use free tools such as TinyPNG to reduce the size of images without compromising the quality.  Also, remember that JPEG images file size is smaller than PNGs and GIFS!

Damage your brand’s image

How would you perceive Exabytes, if a web hosting solution website has a slow loading website?

A website reflects as much as your brand and how you want people to perceive it. And

don’t forget the influence from word of mouth.

If you own a professional website, don’t let it go off to be associated with amateur practices.

word-mouth

How to fix it

Time to do some cleaning!

Start by reducing the amount of CSS, JavaScript and even your image files.

Sometimes, the most simple and modern website is the most visually pleasing.

Moreover, it boosts the speed as your user will only need to download much lesser files.

Miss out on potential customers

There are generally 2 different types of consumers online today: 1) They know what they need to buy and search for the best seller they can afford, and 2) They are open to suggestions and recommendations based on their interest. Nevertheless, these consumers have a short attention span. And either way, they are looking to browse seamlessly and safely. Websites have a limited window of time and opportunity to convert these consumers into a buyer. But, if your website takes ages to load, that’s a lot of potential customers lost.

How to fix it: Clean up your website’s code can help to increase the speed. There are many unnecessary elements that you may have overlooked such as white space, inline spacing etc. If you are a current WordPress user, you can get helpful extensions on Plesk to help you analyze your website content before boosting your performance, such as Google Pagespeed Insights or Speed Kit.

Fast Website = Happy Customers

These are some of the ways how a slow website can affect your brand and revenue.

However, as you keep these practices in mind, you will see a noticeable improvement in customer satisfaction which leads to an increase in sales.

8 Free Online Design Tools for Digital Marketing (Designer Recommended)

0

Who doesn’t love free stuff?

If there is a free option on top of the paid plans for me to do my marketing task, I’d definitely try out the free one first. Through my 7 years of design experience, I believed that if you are working with media such as banners/ editorials/ templates, there are other free tools out there. As long as it gets the same quality result, there’s no need to invest in another paid licensed design software.

I’ve come across many different free tools that have helped me when I need to get things done in a jiffy. Moreover, I’ve shared these tools with my other professional designer friends and they couldn’t love it more. Honestly, it’s our ‘cheat tool’ and some of these are pretty powerful! Best is, you don’t need much or any design experience to create your designs.

Keep reading to see some great, free web design tools which I totally recommend to digital marketers out there.

8 Free Online Design Tools for Digital Marketing (Designer Recommended)

1. Canva

Canva has been one of my most go-to free design tools for digital marketing. Ever since they’ve introduced their new version 2.0, things are even more convenient now. For an example, you do not need to find out the dimension (size) of the banner you need to create. All you have to do is just type for example ‘Facebook Ads’ and it will automatically generate the canvas in the right size for you. Plus, they have tonnes of free graphics elements, collage layout and stock photos in their library.

Also, did you know that they have so many templates designs? It comes with fonts placement and layout recommendation—all ready for you!

2. Photopea

If you are a photoshop enthusiast like me, then Photopea is for you. The tool’s experience is similar to Photoshop where you can design by layers. Although the keyboard shortcuts may not call out specific actions like Photoshop (because it’s working on a browser), it gets the job done pretty decently!

3. Pablo

Nothing drives my passion for design more than minimalistic designs. And if you have the same eyes for simple, engaging design, then try Pablo out. Whether it’s for a Facebook quote post or Instagram, Pablo can produce a series of consistent design for your brand.

4. Adobe Spark

Adobe Spark earned its reputation in the designers’ circle for a reason. Not only it’s available in desktop online, but also they have an app for you to get your stuff done on the go! That is a big plus point for me, especially when I have to create an instant social media post when I’m away from my desk.

Just like some of the free tools I’ve shared above, Adobe Spark provides several stunning templates. However, the one feature that makes it different is it has a video creation function. You can upload your images, add in text/design elements and your short video will be rendered! How cool is that?

5. Piktochart

Need an impactful infographic instead? Give Piktochart a shot. When I first saw their tools years ago, I was very impressed with their international client base. And they were featured in various top review sites!

I love their simple and intuitive tool when everything is ready for you. Create the impact you desire with visual storytelling!

6. Gravit Designer

Gravit Designer is a friend when it comes to working with vector graphics. I find it exceptionally helpful when it comes to projects such as branding, icon illustration and badges. Of course, in digital marketing, we may not need to dive into the abyss of design features. But, l am still amazed by what it can do—and for free!

gravit-designerImage source: Medium

7. Infogram

Another simple tool to create interactive infographics is via Infogram. You can easily add presentation elements such as maps, graphs, videos without having the need to crank your head into a design program. It’s a pretty nifty tool if you want to create an infographic fast!

8. Placeit

Finally, a free online tool that lets you do a mockup on different canvas easily. I can’t deny that sometimes in digital marketing, there are content where you need to show your audience a mock-up of the final product, sort of like a preview. Many non-design experience marketers either source for a graphic designer to do the job or toss those great ideas out.

What I truly like about Placeit is, you just need to drag-and-drop the elements to your chosen canvas. Think of the times where we designers spent hours and hours to compile a branding board for clients. Thank you, Placeit!

placeit-mockup

So, whether you are looking to create banners, presentation, infographic or graphs, you have the perfect online (and FREE) design tools to make your social media channels or website impactful.

And that’s just a few of designer’s must-have visual tools. What tools do you use to create visual content? Share them with us in the comments section below.

How New Domain Extensions Can Help To Boost SEO?

There’s absolutely no point in creating a slick and super attractive website for your business if nobody can find it? As an entrepreneur, driving organic traffic to your website should be of topmost priority. Sure, you can opt for paid marketing alternatives, but that’s not a viable option as it won’t be sustainable in the long run. What you need a marketing tool that won’t cost much and one that will consistently drive traffic to your website and makes your website ranks high on search engines.

Yes! We’re talking about kickstarting your SEO strategy to boost site traffic to your website. The internet is a highly competitive space and so organic marketing may seem arduous and a tad challenging. While attracting organic traffic has a lot to do with keyword usage and overall content optimization, it also has a lot to do with your domain name.

Owning a relevant and definitive domain name for your website plays a significant role in driving more traffic to your website. How? Well, this article is intended towards unfolding exactly that.

How new domain can help to boost SEO

Website names and site redirects on relevant new domain extensions such as .store, .tech, online, .press, etc. work effectively to boost your SEO game. Most new domain extensions are specifically crafted for a particular industry (.store for retail and eCommerce, .tech for technology, .press for media) and this makes them a brilliant choice for businesses such as yourself looking to acquire a brandable name and to win at SEO.

Why use new domain extensions?

Conventional domains such as .com and .net have been around for ages. Which is why the chances of finding a truly descriptive and meaningful domain name for your website on conventional domains is extremely bleak. This is also down to the fact that short and brandable names on .com or .net are exorbitantly expensive and picking a long name is not only downright awkward but it does very little to build brand confidence.

Benefits of picking a new domain extension:

  • Easy to acquire: New domain extensions are fresh and there’s a high probability that a definitive and brandable name of your choice is available on them.
  • Understandable: Using a definitive new domain extension such as .store or .tech as a suffix is probably the smartest way of implying that you sell online or you’re in the tech business.
  • Mem: Since new domain extensions clearly imply what your business is about, you can get smart with your name choices and pick a short domain name.

How new domain extensions help with SEO

Helps to build backlink traction

Backlinks play a major role to boost SEO and contextually relevant domain names help to rank higher for specific keywords and the anchor text. This helps to attract high-quality backlinks to your website which in turn helps to rank higher on search engines. Another crucial element here is the anchor text.

For instance, if www.londonfood.tech is your website and if you repeatedly get backlinks from other credible websites on the anchor text ‘London food’ and ‘London’ and ‘food tech’, it will give search engines a clear and positive indication regarding the authenticity of your website.

This way, your organic search rank will increase, and it will improve your organic traffic too.

Helps to make your inner website pages more visible

Usually, all SEO activities are targeted towards driving traffic to the homepage or one specific page of your website. However, it gets a bit challenging when you want your website’s inner pages to rank high or if you want to direct traffic to those pages. This is because an inner page has limited content and a long and complicated URL.

You can use a new domain extension to smartly redirect traffic to an inner page of your website. This will also double up as a custom, easy-to-remember URL. For example, www.airfrance.store redirects to https://shopping.airfrance.com/. This is a great example of how you can opt for a short and relevant domain name to channel people to a specific inner page on your website.

Helps to create branded URLs

It’s common for businesses to share links from their website across their social media handles. But, did now you have the option to customize every link that you share online and brand it with your own website’s name. Why share a complicated URL such as https://bit.ly/2Kyn5oM, when you can creatively brand it with a new domain extension? For example this https://williamhenry.store/WH-Damascus

your-brand

A custom branded URL ensures a higher recall and as is easier to type and remember. This also means that more people will arrive on your website. Another way to creatively use new domain extensions is to pick a memorable and intuitive domain name for your existing URL. And then redirect users to your website.

Build your website on a new domain extension and win big at SEO!

Perbezaan Blog dan Website

0

Analoginya begini:

Semua Blog adalah Website,
Tetapi bukan semua Website adalah Blog.

Contoh lain;

Berikut adalah contoh sebuah website ;

  1. exabytes.my
  2. maybank.com
  3. facebook.com
  4. lazada.com.my
  5. radiusite.com.my
  6. yougotraining.com
  7. eqalam.my

Pengenalan Asas Sesebuah Laman Web Adalah

  • Tiada ruangan komen, tetapi biasanya contact form disediakan.

Check domain nama anda sekerang!

Rahsia Content Marketing Untuk Menawan Hati Pembaca

0

Cara setting Facebook Ads semua tu hanya 20% je.

4 Proses Utama untuk Content Marketing (secara kasarnya) :

  1. Ransangan dari 5 deria manusia.
  2. Maklumat akan lalu “Sensory Gating”.
  3. Maklumat di proses pada otak.
  4. Respon akan diberikan melalui tubuh badan.

Kebanyakan iklan diabaikan sebab tak berjaya melepasi Sensory Gating.

Baik.. jom kita mula.

Anda hanya perlu letak sedikit logo, supaya orang tahu itu content anda yang kongsikan.getting like and love reaction graphic

4. Promosikan Content

Disinilah gambar memainkan peranan.

Takkan anda nak tengok je video orang lain.

Anda perlu mula buat video sendiri.

Malu? Nak berniaga, malu kena letak tepi ye…

record shopping theme clip with a video camera

Tapi…….kena ingat..

Untuk hasilkan iklan yang berkesan;

How To Build an Email List From Scratch

0

new-start

In a fast-paced world of Google and social media wonders, sometimes, it feels almost impossible for business owners to reach their ideal customers. Cutting past those clutters is more challenging than it looks. But, it doesn’t mean that’s the end.

Despite the nuisance content overload that’s distracting your customers, there is still a direct access for you to get to your customers. And this creates even better value for them.

What could that be?
Getting your target customers’ email address.

Email is still a huge and relevant medium for connecting with your customers and reach them (instead of hoping they’ll come to find you). Why not take the opportunity to educate them on your services, offer an exclusive coupon, or invite them to join your community?

Remember, customers who have a great relationship with you will also advocate for you. Thumbs up for your brand!

How To Build an Email List From Scratch

Consumers are getting smarter by the minute. Getting their private information isn’t easy to come by. Therefore, here are 6 steps on how you can build your list of potential leads from zero:

Step 1: Set Up Your Email Systems

Before we get into building that list, you’ll need an efficient system to keep and manage it. These are the values of a powerful email system:

  • An email management system (EMS), like EBuzzzz or MailChimp. There are other EMS out there with different features. Choose the ones that fit your business (depending on how your number of subscribers,) and the types of email campaign you will be running.
  • Opt-in forms/landing pages on your website. Don’t miss the chance to collect potential leads who are interested in your products or services. Some EMS systems will help you create embedded forms for your site. Or you can use instant landing page design to help you create, distribute, and manage lead generation forms.

Ensure your list, customers profile and info are syncs correctly. It never hurts to practice sending a test mail to yourself! This ensures you have everything in the right place and things are working properly before you send that email out to your customers!

Step 2: Give People a Reason Why

opt-in

As mentioned, people are very personal about their data. They are not inclined to give out their info to you unless you have the right reason for them to do so.

Building an email list should not always be about quantity, but also quality. Imagine this, would you want 100 emails from consumers who just give out their emails to you simply? Or, you prefer 50 interest consumers who are likely to convert?

This is why building the list also encourage you to develop the right reason why they should give you their email. Stand in their shoes and ask yourself these vital questions:

  • If I provide them with my email, what’s in for me?
  • Do I want their email to be in my inbox?
  • What kind of content will I receive?

Understanding these answers will bring you to considering the customers’ needs, problems, intention and desires.

Step 3: Provide Value To Meet Your Customers’ Needs.

After answering the questions your customers’ might have in Step 2, you will need to know what kind of incentive you should provide. This little action can drive them to give you their precious information!

Establishing this relationship is a two-way street.

This is when you provide value in exchange for value. Offer your potential customers something, in return of their contact information.

A good lead magnet should be something people really want such as these:

  • Offering special coupons or discount codes for your products.
  • A free sample or a trial period to try your product before buying.
  • Exclusive access to content that no one else receives
  • Always remember to offer these value as part of your opt-in form. And with great call-to-action, you can then drive people to subscribe to you and get the offer!

Step 4: Invite People You Already Know

It’s time to start adding people to your built-from-scratch email list. Instead of focusing on recruiting new subscribers, why not start with people who are within your circle? These are the people who you can activate easily:

  • Existing Customers
  • Existing network of partners, influencers or affiliate members.
  • Friends and family
  • Avid supporters of your brand

invite-people

Remember the rules of opt-in: Do not add people to your list without asking for their permission! You do not want to add them and have them unsubscribe from you — That leaves them with a bad impression of your brand.

If your unsubscribe rate increases, not only will it affect the health of your email list, but also makes it difficult for you to reach future customers. Because your email could end up in the spam folder, rather than their inbox!

So here’s how to do it the right way:

  1. Reach out to these people personally be it by email / social media/ messaging apps —whichever works best for that relationship.
  2. Share with them that you are working to build an email list for your brand, and you’d like to invite them to join.
  3. Let them know what are the perks! Will they get a special discount? Free trial? Exclusive access to events? Share what’s in for them if they join you.
  4. Send them a link to your sign-up form for opt-in, or add them to your list once you’ve gotten their green light.

Step 5: P-R-O-M-O-T-E !

You have done so much:- From choosing the perfect email system to creating forms and landing page, and of course, connecting with the people and invite them in.

Finally, you should shout out about your list to the world! Start gaining more customers and here are some tips on how to do that:

  • Insert the subscribe form in your website footer/contact/ about page. Make sure your audience sees them easily.
  • Add a link to the sign-up form in your email signature
  • Post the link on social media, and make sure your content engage with the audience (why you’d like them to join you, and what will they get in return!)

speak-share

There are endless ways you can promote and share your email list. If you own a brick-and-mortar, then you could even invite your customer to join after they have purchased or even walked-in. Just do what works for your business!

Step 6: Engage your subscribers consistently with enriching content

After you have gained your subscribers from scratch, you will need to maintain them and keep the new ones coming. Through this step, you have the potential to convert them into paying customers.

Your content needs to be engaging & provide value.

Always remember that your subscribers can range from various backgrounds and work schedules. Segment them properly and custom the content to ask yourself how you can add value to that person.

Keep these practices in mind and you will gain more quality subscribers and eventually convert them into happy and loyal customers. And remember, if you are squeezing time to set things up, bring your customers over to a landing page with opt-in form easily. Create yours here!

Strategi Kurangkan Kos Facebook Ads.

kurangkan kos facebook ads

Bak kata penulis buku T. Harv Ecker dalam bukunya berjudul Secrets of the Millionaire Mind ada menyebutkan,

Panjang sekali mukadimah…

#01 – Set Lokasi Dengan Betul

People who live in this location”.

People-live-in

Elakkan “Everyone In This Location” , “People Recently In This Location” & “People Travelling In This Location”.

Jangan target satu Malaysia. Kalau boleh target bandar-bandar utama contohnya KL, Klang, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, JB dan lain-lain.

Lokasi-radius

Kenapa?

Di bahagian language, letakkan “English (All), Malay” .

Language-age

Mudahkan ?

#03 – Avatar Pelanggan

Umur memainkan peranan penting.

#04 – Gambar Atau Banyak Gunakan Video Selagi Boleh.

Iklan video kebiasaannya mendapat cost per view serendah RM0.01 berdasarkan artikel pakar pemasaran Facebook, Tuan Firdaus Azizi.

Wajib ada CTA @ Call to action!

Anda tak minta, anda tak dapat lah.

Pssst….kalau nak bisnes lagi berkembang, saya sarankan anda bina web page atau blog sendiri. Macam mana nak mula, tak pasti platform apa nk guna.

Jika impression tinggi, trust pelanggan pun tinggi.

16. Kumpul Database

Kalau anda dah berniaga sekian lama, bertahun-tahun pun tapi tak kumpul database pun tiada guna.
