      In this webinar, professional women entrepreneurs, Ms Vanessa Ong and Ms Valerie Aw were invited to be the speakers of  this sharing session. This webinar focused on sharing stories and advice from the knowledgeable and experienced.

      The webinar looked at the problems faced in running a business, the differences between online and offline, the benefits and drawbacks of a website, and provided practical advice from experienced entrepreneurs as a reference on the right procedure and steps needed to be followed in establishing an online business.

      Towards the end of the webinar, there was Q&A session where audience members could engage and ask questions.

      In this WebDev challenge, Exabytes had partnered up with Penang Tech Dome, who is in charge of organising the event. The challenge was opened to female school students in Malaysia who are in Form 3 till Form 5.

      For this challenge, Exabytes had sponsored the workshop on how to build a website, provided free domain and hosting for all participants to build their webite and also cash prizes and medals for the winners.

      Apart from that, Exabytes had also joined the event as judges for the challenge consisting of top 10 finalists. The challenge was equipped with knowledge on latest web development tools to assist students to create their ideal websites and enhance their creativity.

      In this workshop, Exabytes  partnered with SheLeadsTech to organise the event. SheLeadsTech is the banner program of One In Tech dedicated to building a gender diverse and inclusive global community of cyber professionals.

      Initiated in 2017, SheLeadsTech empowers women to enhance their professional skills and advocate for their career advancement. The webinar had cybersecurity and privacy experts as speakers to share and discuss the key cybersecurity challenges faced in operating a website business.

      Besides, experts had also shared on the tips and tricks to identify and safeguard businesses against cybersecurity threats. There were 3 experts invited as speakers in this webinar, namely; Ms Isha Agarwal, Ms Cheryl Lam and Ms Adeline Chan who shared exclusive knowledge on cybersecurity threats.

      AWEWE is a campaign that aims to improve the digital skills of female entrepreneurs by giving them necessary resources and training to help them expand their businesses online.

      AWEWE has accelerated the use of digital technology among SMEs and female business owners through a series of  projects that will further empower women entrepreneurs.

      The Accelerate Women Entrepreneurship with Exabytes programme, which ran from February through June 2022, had opened registration for women in Malaysia and Singapore.

      AWEWE was able to meet its success mainly due to our participants who actively took part and had supported us throughout the campaign. Thanks to our partners and well-wishers the campaign was able to run smoothly and provide help to many women.

      With the success of this campaign, we hope to come back stronger again next year with a much more and much developed campaign filled with programmes that will help women to enhance their entrepreneurship skills.
